Phil Skinner - Co-Head Coach
Coach Phil Skinner is entering his 24th year as a varsity football coach in Orange County and his 14th year with the Dana Hills Dolphins. He enters the 2020 season in his 6th year as Head Coach. The 2019 season was a landmark season for the varisty squad. Under Coach Skinner's leadership, the team was the first in school history (since 1973) to start a season with a 6-0 record, achieved a CIF D12 rankings as high as #3, and finished the season ranked #10 by MaxPreps. The 2019 season also saw 9 players recognized as All-League players, including two first-team selections, the first time for Dana in over 10 years. His coaching career started at Villa Park High School, where he discovered a passion for coaching and teaching and led the Spartans to 10 CIF appearances and 9 Century League Championships. Coach Skinner is a Master's Degree Special Education teacher at Dana Hills and married to wife Somer, who are the proud parents of children Stella and Zane, regulars on the sideline assisting players and cheer.
Curtis Madden - Co-Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator
Coach Curtis R. Madden II is entering his 3rd season as a Dana Hills Football Coach and his 1st as Co-Head Coach. The Dolphins Football program has made extremely productive strides since he has joined “The POD”. Under his direction, the program enjoyed its 1st winning season since 2009 and offensive scoring increased by nearly 65% from 2018 to 2019, despite a schedule that included 6 CIF playoff teams, and one CIF Championship team. Madden is known as an aggressive play-caller that utilizes multiple offensive formations and weapons across the entire field. Coach Madden was a scholarship player at Kansas State University and was part of the famed 'Miracle in Manhattan,' known as the greatest turnaround in NCAA football history. He has coached for 25 years in Texas and California including Trinity League J Serra Catholic and perennial powerhouse Mission Viejo. Accolades include 7 League Championships, 2 CIF Championships, and a California State Championship. He lives with his partner Peggy in San Juan Capistrano where they spoil their 5 grandchildren, and is the father of two, daughter Chaise Amber and son Tre’.
Kenison Poching - Linebackers
Coach Poching is entering his 7th season with the Dana Hills High School Football program. He began his coaching career as the Freshman Linebacker Coach and was promoted to varsity and linebackers coach during his second year. His passion and love of the game shows each day he is out on the field with his players. Coach Poching played football at Savannah High School and continued playing into college at Fullerton Junior College and Chapman University. He has seven brothers and sisters and is lucky number six. The family emigtaed from New Zealand to the Unites States when he was 5 years old. Coach Poching is the proud father of Kenison Jr., Jarod, Gianna and Matthew.
Tarquin Stephenson - Offensive Line and Run Game Coordinator
Coach Stephenson, or Coach "T" to the Dana family, joined the Dana Hills family in 2019 as the Varsity O-Line Coach. His coaching career began 16 years ago as the O-Line coach for the Southern Allstars and Great Britain. He also served as D-Line and Special Team Coordinator for the Southern Allstars. From 2006 he was the O-Line coach for the University of Essex Blades, and during the final three years was the OC. From 2007 he was the OC, QBs coach and Assistant HC of the Colchester Gladiators who won the 2013 National League Championship with an unbeaten season. From 2014 Coach T served as varsity O-Line coach at Laguna Beach High School helping win a league title in 2018 and reaching CIF Semi-finals twice. Coach T always says that his job is creating good football players but most importantly great men!
Khalil Watson - Defensive Coordinator
Coach Khalil Watson is in his fifth season of coaching at the college or high school level. 2020 will be his 2nd season with the Dana Hills Dolphins and his first year as the Defensive Coordinator. In 2019, Coach Watson coached both the defensive backs and receivers. He was born in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and grew up mostly in California with his mom and two brothers. Coach Watson played locally for Aliso Niguel High School and at Saddleback College before transferring to HBCU's historic Howard University in Washington, DC, playing two seasons as a linebacker and defensive back before graduating with a BA in 2015 with a double major in legal studies and communications, and a minor in political science. Apart from football Coach Watson spent a year lobbying on Capitol Hill and was a part of Howard's Nationally renowned Mock Trial team. His future goals included returning to law school to earn a Juris Doctorate degree.
Mikki St. Germain - Special Teams Coordinator
Coach Mikki St. Germain is entering her 2nd season as Special Teams Coordinator and has been coaching for 14 years and is the first female head coach to win the Pop Warner Super Bowl (2015). Over the years she has led her teams to win League Championships, Division Championships, and was nominated by 26 other coaches to be the Head Coach for the Pop Warner “2016 All-Conference Team”. Coach St. Germain is a mother of two, daughter April son Logan (a graduate of Dana Hills), and one granddaughter named Christian.
Rob Robbins - Quarterbacks Coach
Coach Robbins played football for 17 years beginning at age 5 in Houston, Texas, and ending as an NFL quarterback with the Houston Oilers in 1987. His head coaching mentors include legends Jerry Glanville, Bill Walsh, and Gary Huff. In 2012 coach Robbins attained a faculty position at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine where he currently presents lectures at the university’s school of medicine, and proctors skills labs. Coach Robbins’ approach to coaching is philosophical. "At the end of the day when the stadium lights turn off, football is just a game and for some, it is their opportunity to earn a college scholarship and degree while being a student-athlete." Coach Robbins believes it’s a privilege to coach at Dana Hills, and to work with the QB’s this season. He is looking forward to great success for the Dolphins football players, both in the classroom and on the football field.
Bruce Pfeuffer - Assistant Offensive Coordinator, WR Coach
Bruce graduated from Gahr High School in 1973 after playing football, baseball, and track. He has coached youth sports including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer for 25 years. While coaching flag football Bruce led his teams to three city titles and has coached at Dana Hills for over 10 years. including 2 league titles at the Freshman level. He has been married to his wife Barbara for 35 years and has two sons, Alex and Brett.
Chris Isner - Defensive Line Coach
Coach Chris Isner joins the Dana Hills coaching staff in 2020, and was a four-year varsity football player for Dana Hills from 1996 to 1999. Chris is also the founder of Perform Nutrition which focuses on helping athletes at all levels achieve their goals while improving fitness. Coach Isner has also worked as a performance nutritionist for the NFL combine since 2017. He is excited to return to his alma mater and develop a winning culture.
Jay Williams - Running Backs, Assistant Coach
Coach Jay Williams enters his first season as a Dana Hills varsity football coach. Coach Williams played high school football for the Mission Viejo Diablos and then attended the University of Nebraska by way of Saddleback College. Coach Williams was one of the most prolific running backs to play in South Orange County. At Nebraska, he was one of the high caliber running backs in Tom Osborne’s Husker backfield. Coach Williams returned to football three seasons after coaching at the semi-pro level with the Saddleback Ranger Academy. He has also assisted at Aliso Niguel High School. Coach Williams is very excited about joining the coaching staff, aiming to make a positive difference in the Dolphins program.
Tony Salay - Linebackers, Safeties and Special Teams support
Coach Salay joined the Dana Hills staff in 2019, helping to develop a stingy and opportunistic defensive unit. Prior to coming to Dana Hills, he coached two seasons of football at Trinity League J Serra, as well as six seasons of baseball. He attended the University of San Diego and played three years of football for the Toreros Coach Bill Williams, playing linebacker and various special teams positions. Coach Williams pioneered coaching clinics and has done various clinics from Pop Warner all the way to the NFL level and these techniques learned as both a player and student of Coach Williams can be found in his approach to coaching. Tony believes in developing individuals by stressing character, positive attitude, and pushing an athlete to perform to their God-given ability.
Mike Corral - Running Backs Coach
Coach Corral is in his sixth year coaching at Dana Hills High School. He has served five years as running backs and linebackers coach. Mike Corral is also the Head Coach of the Fins Football Academy middle school program and coaches as a basketball assistant at Dana since 2019. In all, he has coach youth and high school sports for over fifteen years. Coach Corral played high school football at Corona High School, attended Santiago Canyon College, and is a professional water inspector for Moulton Niguel Water District. He resides in San Juan Capistrano with his with Carrie and has three children, Carlin (DHHS 2014), Chloe (DHHS 2017), and Troy (DHHS 2023). Coach Corral can always be heard encouraging players to give 100% effort, to play with passion and love for the game, have fun, and always compete!
Coach Romm graduated from Dana Hills in 2006 and immediately began his coaching career, having coached football and wrestling at JSerra Catholic High School, Estancia High School, and Dana Hills. In 2015, he received the Orange Coast Coach of the Year. Coach Romm is a graduate of Brandman University with a B.S. in Social Sciences and earned his teaching credential from National University. Coach Romm and his wife Courtney enjoy spending time together cooking, going to the beach, and traveling.
